Easy A

I really wanted to like this one a lot more than I did. The plot was great, Emma Stone carried the weight in her first starring role, the supporting cast was stuffed with talent, the jokes were funny, but something just didn’t sit right with me. The pacing felt off. There were just certain scenes that went on a little longer than they needed to or that I felt took away from the main focus of the story and pulled me out of the story and reminded me that I was watching a film. (I’d have to see the movie again to point of specific scenes.) The ending also felt a little forced and the end credits did nothing to add anything special to the film. (If you have footage over the credits it should enhance the movie in some way.)

  1. I keep hearing mixed reviews about this movie, but honestly….what’s the appeal? Maybe I’m too cynical.

    • For me the trailer looked really good, I’m an Emma Stone fan (thought she was great in Superbad and Zombieland), they make fun of Jesus freaks, and Emma Stone’s character looked like she was going to be a little more cynical in the preview than she was in the movie. Thought it would fall somewhere between Mean Girls and Heathers, but it fell short of both.
